A Confession
Some days
I trudge down the road
With a heavy backpack
And each person I meet
Puts in another brick.
But on a good day
I remember
I am a bricklayer.
And I place those bricks
At the foot of the Cross
And walk off
To find more.
Forgive me Lord
When I forget my job
And try to do Yours.
